Karen has been trained to conduct a range of psychological assessments (including IQ tests, ADHD, ASD and anxiety tests), adaptive skills assessments (i.e. for NDIS) and has been trained in functional assessment and positive behaviour support. Karen has been trained in cognitive and mindfulness therapies, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and Schema Therapy.
Karen has recently gained certification as a PEERS Social Skills Trainer and can provide these services as part of NDIS therapy support funding. The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) is world-renowned for providing evidence-based social skills treatment to individuals with autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, depression and other socio-emotional problems. First developed at UCLA by Dr Elizabeth Laugeson and has expanded into more than 80 countries.
